Thibodeaux Goes to Town

Lithograph Limited Edition of 2000, 18"x24", Signed and Numbered... This is the first painting in the "Cajun Life Series", called 'Thibodeaux Goes To Town". This one was actually based on the "Thibodeaux House" at the Acadian Village in Lafayette, Louisiana. "Papa Thibodeaux is making a trip to town with his furs, and his son will be making his first trip to town with him. This painting has lots of fun and interesting details typical of the Cajun Life in southern Louisiana...the drying of the spanish moss for use in the bedding, the cistern to collect fresh rainwater, the roses outside the girls' window...no sneaking out with those thorns in the way! And, the quilt on the porch to tell neighbors of a birth or other important life announcement was an important method of communication. And let's not forget the Catahoula dog! This series will be dedicated to the many hard-working Cajun men and women who overcame the strife of exile to settle and make a home in the wonderful paradise that is Louisiana!
