I think you're definitely on the right track, but the smudges around the edges of the drawing and the way the lion's bodies just stop after their heads bothers me. They're just floating! And the halo around the cub's head flattens the image. The parts that you've defined are well rendered but the whole thing just needs more contrast to make it pop. I love the cub!! So cute!!!
