This is a 29"x 41" watercolor of The Vallejo Stret Wharh during the Civil War. One day Barbara told me she wanted to hang one of my originals over the couch in our living room. I told her to pick which ever one she wanted and we would hang it. This is the one she picked. I tink this is one of the best skies that I have ever painted, and I ahave always like the patina that is created in the masts of the ship by the ships rigging. It creates the rigging creates a soft gauzy quality that is impossible to intentionally execute. If it shows up in the painting then it must descend from the ether some where in another dimension.
