This is a 29"x 41" watercolor of the main channel of Los Angeles which was then the independently incorporated city of San Pedro. This view is of the harbor right after major construction had been completed on the seawall and the breakwater that created a sheltered port. When I was painting this scene I was watching the movie Impact starring Brian Donlevy. To further my amusement I added a portrait of a young Brian Donlevy looking out at the viewer at the lower right.
