Syracuse, NY: The Weigh Locks ca.1910

This is a 29"X41" watercolor of the weigh locks on the Erie Canal which is now the Erie Canal Museum. The Museum is located three blocks east of Clinton Square. Canal barges were weighe and the tolls were levied on the basis of the tonnage. THe large victorian building to the right of the weigh locks is the Syracuse City Hall.
