Theis painitng is a 29x41 inch watercolor of the corner of Fulton and Furman Sts. in Brooklyn, New York ca. 1886. The Brooklyn Bridge was just completed a few years before. The ornate Victorian building in the center of the painting is the Fulton Ferry Building on the Brooklyn side of the East River. It Stood until it was demolished in the early 1920's. I completed this painting in 1988. Shortly after this painting I changed my sytle somwhat to become much more exacting and deliberate in my work. I was diagnosed that summer as a type 2 diabetic and while my blood sugars where getting under contro my vision became blurry. This forced me to proceed more slowly and to use magniication to paint. I was so impressed with the result that I decided two things, that I would use the best maginification available to discern as much detail as possible , and most importantly that I would never be rushed to complete a work. I realized that the greater the deliberative process, the better the painting.
