This just warms my heart... I am so glad to see that you did a painting of Chicago... my home town! I have ridden the "L" so many times, and your painting brings back the creaking swaying noisy progress of the train... as well as the acrid smoky interior! The buildings appear so real. Another masterpiece, Stanton! PS. there are lots of other views of Chicago that are very interesting as well.... :-)

Rendered to perfection and I dare say totally historically accurate.

Your works are so fantastic! I love them!!

Artist Reply: I have a dream one day of coming to Paris and painting the canals in an area of Paris that runs off the Seine, not far from Notre Dame. It would be fun to do it with a photographer. I also have a first cousin who lives in a suburb outside Paris. Maybe we can get Gabrielle to go along with us. Stanton

Lots of historial detail here bet you used a lot of notes

Artist Reply: Not so many notes, but 100s of collateral images, film clips, maps, a paid researcher in Chicago to research unidentified buildings, and one Robert Polio of Boston Massacheusetts who was an expert on license plates who gave me the correct colors of the 1937 Illinois plates. He even offered me the correct colors of the Chicago city plates, but I declined. The whole call to Mr. Polio took all of 1 minute and 30 seconds. He had all of this info commited to MEMORY!!!!! The whole thing from beginning to end took over six months. Stanton M anolakas
Artist Reply: I it the wrong key and dropped the M from Manolakas. I can handle watercolors but not typing. Go figure. SPM
