The nameless creature in the piece is simultaneously weighed down, yet uplifted by her heavy wings. I am still not sure if the pillar on which she is crouching is giving way beneath her, or if it is in rising from below. Although she may fly away at any moment, the Fae is bound by her own despair. At any moment she may realize that her brightly colored wings may take her anywhere. She is my own personal puzzle. (The inspiration for this piece came from a modeling pose common in figure drawing classes.)
