This is one beautiful painting with an interesting perspective that goes on "deepening" the background, that is; the framed picture in your painting realizes that effect. May I also ask you if the pomegranate that she (in the pic) is eating means/signifies anything special, according to you? I recall that in ancient Greece pomegranates were the fruit that the the goddess Persefone/Kore ate while in the Underworld (the condition being that she couldnĀ“t return to her Mom, the goddess Demeter/Ceres if she ate from the "food of the dead", according to Greek myth). What makes this myth interesting on a side-note is the fact that the Greeks also thought of pomegranates as an antifertility agent (a contraceptive promoted by Hippocrates as well as Dioscorides et al) to prevent contraception and long before the pomegranate featured in the Greek mythic (and otherwise) imagination, it was a prominent symbol of the ancient West Asian and/or Middle Eastern goddesses of love, like Inanna/Ishtar/Astarte. In Anatolia, if I recall correctly, the goddess Cybele/Kubaba also held on to the pomegranate in a symbolic way...you could say that she held sway over the symbol of fertility and sterility both! Never mind my ramblings/musings - what is your idea/opinion of the pomegranate-symbolism as featured in your excellent painting?

Artist Reply: you are right!:-))))when I was painting it ,I thought persephone, demeter, hades, inanna, cybele and sufism.!in sufism the pomegranate also is an important symbol.which symbolises the unity underlying the multiplicity of the fruits.you and your works are very interesting ...like from another world.thanks a lot for your meaningful words.greetings from Anatolia.
