The Penrhyn Summer

An evocation of my teens when I spent a lot of time in and around the old slate quarries of North Wales, notably Penrhyn. This big painting incorporates Ordnance survey maps of the area and has a slate colour which hopefully reflects the moods of the quarries.

Marvellous Work......shapes all work together so well.......really captures the mood and feeling for the time and place.....There feels like a great deal of character in these rocks and wonderful detail in them.....The long winding road has a great effect on the Scene....Excellent, Talented Composition!!!

Love the colour and energy

I like the use of color. I also like how the viewer is placed in the middle of the story. You may not know where the story ends, and you may not know where it began, but viewers are thrust into the heart of the work. Very emotional feel. I like this.
