Aside from being the symbol of American strength, freedom and spirit, this is simply one beautiful & majestic bird! It's grace in flight and sweeping, powerful form are simply incredible, to say the least. I love animals and this is one of many portraits I've done. Though some have suggested to me this piece evokes a 'dark' side to our good ol' US of A, there's no intentional symbolism attached to it whatsoever. I did this portrait with a black background simply so that the head could stand out better. However, given the situation we're in today, I am praying everyday for our troops (and for other ally nation soldiers...)safety and well-being. Whether people are for or against the war, I hope they can agree these dedicated men & women and their family's deserve our well wishes and support for a safe return.
