Guess while this is going on ..they can also check out the competetion! The movement and colours in this watercolour are delightful... Love the tents in the background and flags against the hot sky.. can almost feel the heat of the day already.. Excellent watercolour Francis! :o)

This painting is very remioniscent of the paintings in the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. The flags rippling in the breeze atop the canopy of the tents. The men standing around, tensely waiting for the race to begin. Fascinating!
