Hi Pastor Rich I'm really hoipng that our brothers and sisters in Christ at Faith Church joins us on thes wonderful blogs that allow us to look within ourselves and look to the word of God for answers.Well here I go .You know there are plenty of times that I may think of the WHAT Ifs. There is a positive and negative to looking into your past. The positive is to reference to your past so that you can learn and experience and in some cases not make the same mistakes. The negative would be to hold on to the past like heavy baggage that does not let you move forward and focus on the NOW.It can actually get quite depressing thinking of what could have been. My personal testimony to this is that my mom passed away back in 1997 and I remember that she called me that morning and ask me to come over to see her – she said she was cooking my favorite meal that I like so much. But at the time I was so tired from hanging out with friends that night, so I said “Mom…Im tired – I will see you later” …..she pleaded with me some more, now the norm was that I saw her on a daily basis anyway, so I thought nothing of it and insisted that I would go later. That day (later) changed my life and world forever– I was hit with the devastating news that her life had been taken and I never got to see her again. I was devastated – I love my mom sooooo much and for many years I resented myself and I ask myself over and over again at the WHAT IF I would had went to see her that morning, maybe she would still be alive. Thru the years God began to heal me from that and brought me to the understanding that there are some things that you just do not have control over and cannot be change. Certain things will happen and we have to move forward, remembering but not to the point of beating ourselves about the WHAT IFs. Believing in the almighty God and that he is sovereign and merciful can bring us thru anything. This experience in my life has allowed God to work in me many things within me and I give Him the Glory!!Let’s move on to where God wants us to be NOW. Let’s take it to the next level in Christ….I leave you with this:“Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity” Hebrews 6:1 (NIV)
