Runic Wall Hanging

In the pottery studio there were all these containers of glazes that most people had forgotten what colors they contained. I set out to do a test tile for each container to see what was inside. I decided to then carve into the clay a runic symbol for fun. It made the pieces less boring. Later i created this wall hanging made from balsa wood, yarn, beads and fishing line. Satialee 2005

very creative work of art.. i love the forms and negative space... plus you have created something that is also useful as well using materials that may have been thrown to the wind....
