Jack Nicholson's Joker

(This was the 3rd charcoal drawing I had ever done. The first one was a portrait of Marilyn Monroe back in high school in 1983). The Joker was the 2nd one I completed for my BATMAN series. I did this in 1999 as a sort of "warm up" for a serious pastel portrait I was commissioned to do. I hadn't drawn anything serious in a while and felt I might be a bit rusty. This is how my BATMAN series got started.
