Nice lighting Eileen! I'm a little thrown off by the sharp focus and contrast of the receeding background as it relates to the softer focus and values of the bather. The result is my eye is drawn away from the main story and more towards the woman with the parasol talking to the child. There's a great book, "Carlson's guide to landscape painting" by John Carlson that you mught really enjoy. I got my copy on Amazon.com for about $6 and it helped me avoid a lot of pitfals.Renee Nemerov 14 May 2005
