Beginnings

24" x 48", mixed media on canvas, 2005. I wanted to create an evolutionary timeline that also acted as an abstract piece. Reading left to right, "Beginnings" is an attempt to show the emergence of the animate (living) matter from inanimate matter. It is true that, by innate forces in nature, atoms will come together on their own to form compounds, and eventually molecules. Shapes will become increasingly more defined and complicated as molecules grow. Here, the end-products (living systems) are depicted as colorful green forms. I also added a 3rd dimension to describe the living forms, as they protrude from the canvas as raised mounds. I am neither religious nor atheistic, so I dont claim to understand exactly what the life force really implies and when it entered into the equation. I am only providing insight into a popular theory with many unknowns.

good work... but noting arises from nothing...life does not evolve but was spoken by the word of God...the same wonderful creator who blessed you with tremendous talent!
