The Forks

This is the meeting of the Assiniboine River and the large Red River (seen in the distance beyond what used to be a rail road bridge, but is now a people bridge). As you can see the ice from the Assiniboine River is trying to flow into the Red River.. but there is so much water.. they are both over flowing their banks. I am taking this photo with my Olympus Digital Camera from a tower they built at The Forks for just such viewing purposes. I took this photo aproximately the end of March, first week of April. Hope you enjoy.. sorry about the time of day and lighting.. I adjusted it in PhotoShop the best I could. :o)

Intriguing shot Les! Dramatically bleak cityscape. The smoothness of the water is broken up with the sheets of ice and the nude, black branches of the trees creak stiffly in the icy wind. Brrr!
