This anxious piece was inspired by Lauren Greenfield's photo essay "Girl Culture" about the thrills and pitfalls of being female in American culture. Cropped from a photo of two girls in a dressing room, this figure seemed to empitomize that anxiety inherent over body image in even the most beautiful girls. I've used an unsettling design and palette to contrast the girl's beauty, hoping to capture the distress and nonreality of distorted body image.
