double diptych

This is made up of four monotype panels, two originals and two ghost prints. On the ghosts I've collaged images from photos taken by Mark Jury in Vietnam, and from newspaper photos of presidents Johnson and Nixon. I've portrayed the war under Johnson chaotic with slogans, the hub-bub of pro-war propaganda. Under Nixon is the silent war in Cambodia. Each panel was made to look like a flag, the four together forming another flag.

Nice work. I love how the images scatter the quad-division of the piece.

Artistically, crisp and to the point. Well Done! Socially & Politically, We seem to have not learned much since VN. We go from one hell to another and the drum beat for war plays on. Unfortunately for all involved. As an added note. My brother was part of the first group into VN in the 60's {Marine Recon Div.} He was dropped off in VN However the Marine's did not tell them where they were going. So he went from Bay of Pigs to VN , when it was still a secret...and he lived to tell about it ,and is against the current war now. I suppose people do learn afterall, it's the corporate politicians that fail to learn anything.

A very powerful piece of artwork. Just looking at it tells a story of what sort of things went on. Great work!
