To me, this is the epitome of what graphite drawing should be. Very photo-realistic, yes, but still obviously a drawing (at least up close lol). Her skin, eyes, mouth, hair, the dog's wiry muzzle and that glint peeking out from the one eye, all come together in a riveting composition. Kudos.
Artist Reply: Thank you so much for your thoughtful comments Marlene. While I love making images that have very realistic qualities to them I'm understanding more and more that it is good to show off the medium used as well. So your points are well taken.
Some of the best work I have ever seen, I was shocked to find that this is not a PHto. I admire this greatly and the subject is Priceless. Wow! GREAT is an understatement.
I am almost to the point of tears. I'm just so blessed by your talent and in awwww as to how in the world you do this. No body alive can be this good, can they? I'm so nuts with amazment. Does it take you a year to complet one of these because I'm guessing I wont get even close to this good in my whole life time. Yeap! It's a safe bet!
You mean to say that this is not a photograph??? Oh my god. I'm throwing away my drawing/pastel stuff tomorrow morning!! I give up! :) Congrats to you, a super-talented person!
You are so good you make me want to stop trying to draw. Although I am a novice and I just can't imagine ever being this good. Your work is sheer genious. Can't wait to see more and I would love to be able to watch you work.
this to me best represents your command in all textures with the graphite medium..outstanding work on paper Tim..you have a delicate hand with controlled precision..amazing how you do this..
