I worked from a photo in studio on this painting in hard and soft pastel. I like the feel of this painting. I took the photo I worked from when I visited my mom on Kauai in 2000. I swam on this beach in the afternoon on our way home from somewhere, we just stopped the car and went to this beach. I took this picture and in the picture there is a lady standing in the middle of the beach but I decided to leave her out and just paint the beach alone. In reality the shorebreak is further out also. The beach was beautiful and Kauai is amazing.
