Allegory

Three red and white robed angels stand in an large vaulted room. The sun has just set over the hills out the arched doorways in the background, or is it about to rise? The stained glass windows in the upper story are just starting to lose their glow. The centrel window shows the Temptation of Eve. The angels pray, they offer solace and they beckon. Are they muses, emissaries of a higher power, or temptresses? Do they offer death in life or life amidst the death? Everything in the painting has a meaning, like in life, everything is a clue. Decode the painting and tell me what you think. Copyright 2004 by Herb Roe.

amazing work...you have an oxymoron paradox of dark power and light innocence... i feel like they are all one..united but separate in belifes or knowledge... your painting tech is outstanding... the reflections on the floor nicely accomplished... youre struggling with faith? ...lovely work and perfect Herb : )

They can stay with me anytime n never leave. U have created another piece that just calls to the soul beackoning for a time of reasoning n peace. Love the reflections on the floor, this is a mirror of sacred space. Looks as if they just appaered here instantly with outstretched hands. a master piece. the backgrd of deep hues sets off the figures in the light handsomely. Whoa, is there a dark angel back there! I think so. that's a sinister touch of reality! so is the skull on the floor behind the three figures n the three windows seem to suggest the trinity of spirituality. wonderful work. Blessings to u. I think this is just beautiful, belongs in the sanctuary of souls
