Well these I'm very familiar with ,this what we call decorative or ornamental dried corn,,yes out here we call it ,,,Indian corn,,,normally milled into flour used inmaking tacos ,maize, corn flour, The reason the different colours I believe it's a process the corn stalk or as the corn is developing as it ripens ,???? It's defeniatly not because of the variety.,as I've taken a coloured kernel planted it,& it came out as a normal sweet table corn..,maybe you may know more Marie,as to why the different corn colours..They are used as a very picturesque attraction In Autumn settings together with pumpkins, scarecrows etc.yes Halloween time.In Mexico they have a lot of these coloured ones, they just mill it & make tortillas etc from it.They make a wonderful table top decoration with the corn husks pushed back, lasting a long time.,Nice find Marie,,if I may ask where these used as a decoration in one of the stores.,I've also seen stores use these decorative corn associate Harvest time.
