Mysterious Flowers

This painting was done in one session, ("alla prima"), from the still life in studio. In this painting I used the flowers, vase and drapery as a reference and tried to evoke the mood of the day as much as I could. It was a grey day in October and the only light used was pure Northern light which comes in through the skylights. This was the first painting done on my return to my NYC studio in October, 2004.
