Pakistani traditions on Hellenistic sculptures part 2: Pudicitia (Chastity)

This type characterised by the “strait jacket” position of the arms - one crosses her her body at the waist, the other is perpendicular to it and raised to the face. Often woman shown in the Pudicitia style is wearing a veil, further emphasising her chastity and modesty. The green background has patterns inspired by the Ralli quilts of Sindh. These quilts are a cultural symbol for the regions where they are made. The most common uses are for a single bedcover or as a small bag.
