Kathra - ex-Dari resistance fighter, gone mercenary but whose brother has just been captured by the Dromi's Son and whose adopted father she believes was killed by Seekers. Reylan Khral - The Dromi's Son, sent to Khursinhi to wipe out the Dari resistance and restore order to the renjiri homeworld, in particular the capitol city of Syrani, responsible for capturing Kiril Noor and Nari Arian's attempted assassination. Kathra, knowing the only way to get her brother back and give the Dari a fighting chance against the Seekers storming through the city and killing any Dari or Dari sympathizers they find, goes to capture Reylan Khral and ransom him. She fights her way through the city and into the old Syrani Palace, killing Reylan's bodyguards with the help of her long-lost adopted mother Rieka, and bests the Dromi's son in combat, holding him ransom for her brother and her people's planet.
