Carmilla

"Carmilla" - 8" x 10" Acrylic on Cotton Canvas Sheet, 2016. "Carmilla", written by Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu was first published as a serial novella in the penny dreadful magazine The Dark Blue in 1871-1872. Carmilla is a vampire that preys on females and can take the shape of a monstrous black cat. Le Fanu's Carmilla is said to be the template that Bram Stoker used to create his famous novel Dracula 26 years later.
