A fragment of old cedar barn wood backs vintage photos of a historic cathedral, stained glass window, plus a Michelangelo statue of Mary and Jesus, along with a portion of an antique book page to create original wall art. The text is an actual page from an antique book of Catholic prayers and reads in part as, "Let your prayers be short and summon your whole soul for the effort". The piece hangs on the wall via a sawtooth hanger and has been coated with clear acrylic varnish as a protective finish to provide a mild gloss. The photographs are from around the world, taken by "John" during his 1992 Grand Tour, and include the following... St. Stephen's Cathedral in Venice, a 15th century stained glass window at the Basilica dei Santi Giovanni e Paolo in Venice, The Pietà statue of Mary holding Jesus in St. Peter's Basilica by Michelangelo. The art work also includes handmade acrylic transfers of handmade stained glass looking magazine paper cut- outs that provide transparent colors throughout.
