A colored pencil painting of a country cemetery based on an old photograph taken years ago by my father-in-law. The painting is done on Dura-lar polyester film using Prismacolor Verithin pencils. The scene seemed beautiful and peaceful to me and begged the title "Rest Stop". Dimensions of the painting are 5 inches X 7 inches. I welcome any comments you might have about this and any of my other painting.

Love the highlights on the tombstones and the lights in the distance...life and death...well done!

Artist Reply: Jane: thank you so much for your insightful comments. I was drawn to the almost monotone color of the grave yard, the contrast of the living tree line in the mid region, and the vastness of the entire scene. A very peaceful final resting place in the circle of life. Best regards, Will

Great work - love the use of horizontal sections to evoke a kind of lost but tranquil feel.

Artist Reply: Tony: thank you so much for your kind comments. From an artist of your caliber, this means a great deal. Best regards, Will

Thank you for your kind comments on "String Theory". This is a wonderful composition that you have here. Very serene. No math was not one of my best subjects in school. But I've always been fascinated with physics. (:0)

Wonderfully panoramic View and place, peaceful temperature, and So pleasant to see this place of rest.

Artist Reply: John: thanks so much for your kind comments! I loved the colors in the original photo and the colors in the painting, but I kinda feel that it's really hot there. If I were able to choose where I would "rest", I think I would like a few more trees to provide some shade! Interesting how differrent artists "feel" a painting or a photograph. Best regards, Will
