RoseGold Confection

RoseGold Confection originally started as a bare canvas upon which I poured thick tar gel. By accident, I dropped something upon the surface before it was fully dry, and in lifting it, I scraped the surface. What was created resembeld a tear on the surface of a plastic bag. Not unusual in the creation of art, I liked the "mistake", and it became the inspiration of the piece. Adding more "tears", I layered several more pourings of tar gel, scraping and ripping, using natural sea sponges and metal tools. As I added color and metallic touches, and finally contrasting aqua colored glass on the rose and gold work, the piece took on the feeling of candy confection with a sharp contemporary impression. It reflects my most favorite colors of all. This warm, vibrant piece would be stunning in a contemporary setting, or as a warm accent piece, juxtaposed in an eclectic way in a more traditional home. Dimensions: 24 x 24 x 3
