This is a 9 inch by 12 inch painting done with Prismacolor Verithin pencils on Dura-lar polyster matte film. It is based on a reference photo taken by my wife at Palisades State Park, near Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Fantastic artwork!! Well done !!

Artist Reply: Mark: thank you so very much! I'm glad that this piece relates to you in a positive way. It is one of my favorites. The scene is true to the photograph that it is based on, but I did add in the crows taking flight. Thought the piece needed a true focal point and their addition actually gave rise to the title of the piece. Thanks again and have a good day. Regards, Will

Very atmospheric - beautiful work!

Artist Reply: Fiona: thank you so much! This was a lovely scene and shouted to be the subject of a painting. I liked the way the light and shadow worked with each other. I'm glad that the piece as I captured it also spoke to you. Best regards, Will

Beautifully done! I love the strong contrast between the dark tree trunks and the bright sunlight ground and leaves...

Artist Reply: Barry: thank you so very much! This is a beautiful place to visit in the fall, especially on a sunny day like this. It begged to be the subject of a painting. As I mentioned to others, I took the liberty of adding the crows taking flight. I felt that it added "life' to the piece and gave rise to the title of the piece. Have a nice weekend. Best regards, Will

Nicely done artwork,Will !

Artist Reply: Maria: thanks so very much! This was a beautiful fall scene and I love doing fall folliage. I added the crows taking flight to give it "life" so to speak. It does catch the mood of the setting. Thanks for looking and commenting. So sorry it took me this long to respond. I missed the notice that you had looked until just know. Best regards, Will

You did a great job. It looks like a very bright sunny day in the fall, like a moment in time.

Artist Reply: Charles: thank you so much. Your description is right on the mark. Fall is such a beautiful time of year. The play between light and shadow was too much to pass up. Had to do this piece. Thanks again. Best regards, Will
