Something in the Air

A Young female Grizzly Bear. I was in a semi wooded area photographing when I heard the crunch of some branches and as I looked over to my right this bear came emerging through the trees. As she started to cross over this log she stopped and started sniffing the air. Yes there was something in the air, the rising concern turning to strong apprehension on my part..You could say the woo woo hairs on the back of my neck were standing straight at attention. Being that a grizzly can run about 35 mph and I can't.. and the only thing keeping us apart was one little ridge on that hill, I did what any photographer would do, I took a couple quick images and made a hasty backward retreat back down the hill. Those are some wicked claws on her paws and they make very quick work on tree bark and earth. Need I say more. :) Hayden Valley, Yellowstone National Park,Wyoming
