Vladislav II The Great Voivode and Gospodar

Vladislav II The Great Voivode and Gospodar of Wallachia I agree with Vladislav Dragwlya’ s opinion , since his word is of quite an importance for those who learn the history, his father, as he always mentioned in his letters, was the great Voivode and Gospodar indeed. Taking into consideration all the Crusade of Varna documents (Michel Beheim’s work, The Holy Wars of Sultan Murad, Jehan de Wavrin’s chronicle and so on), there he was described as the Ruler whose return to his country in 1444 was so greatly celebrated by his people , with such an overwhelming joy, that everyone around knew how great that ruler must have been to be celebrated that much. Or the way Jean de Wavrin pretty vividly described the way The great Vlaislav II and his son Mircea Dragwlya fought with the Turk so boldly, with such a valor, when the infidels tried to escape from fortress Petrez. He was a crusader, who gave his children away to the Turk , as many did those times for truce guarantee, and took part in the Crusade against infidels which meant those times that his children were pretty much dead or blinded. He himself wrote that for the sake of his people and his land he sacrificed his two children . He was kind, he was devoted to his people and he was a crusader, brave and strong, that makes him great indeed.
