Chateau Frontenac Night Quebec City

The Chateau Frontenac is where we stayed on a recent trip to Quebec City. I watercolored this last night; the top photo taken with my camera this morning and the bottom photo taken with my iPhone last night. I hope you enjoy!

Interesting difference in the colors... was the light source the same?

Lovely works Sharon, as always. I am assuming the colours are truer to form in the photo you took with your camera and not your i-phone.

This is simply breathtaking...the details are magnificent. This has an impressionistic feel to it. A real nice mood. The trees are so realistic looking. The Chateau is very regal looking. Great control over the medium, watercolor isn't always easy to handle but you did flawlessly. Bravo on a job well done!!! Excellent work!

Commented on your day version (but didn't realize I wasn't logged in so it was anonymous; lol) Sharon. I think I like the nightime result better though. Not sure why I thinks so, but it has that Degas feel to it to me anyway. I guess it's the way you are doing the lighting. Kudos again to a fantastic interpretation. :)
