I could read all your reviews but, I won't!!! it is late and the nights closes all blossoms and hides in velvet dreams...I must sleep soon and my way is weary. I have heard heavenly spirits cry...now is not the time to lie awake for me but sleep. As I close my eyes I say a prayer that all would find love there in hearts desire...rose red or blossom blue whatever the color may it ever prove true... CB

Yeah that's a pretty amazing likeness of Dan F. Funny, I was at an art store yesterday and while waiting in line "Leader of the Band" came on the radio and made me think about his life and works. Your portrait is as timeless as its subject! Great technique.

You are a master with the pencil - you have brought this image to life.

Artist Reply:  Deana, Your kind words really flatter me. I would hardly say "master" considering this is only the third Portrait i have ever attempted. (The first being a self Portrait when I was 16 years old) I have many friends I work with who are on this site who I would call "masters with the pencil " (including Denny Karchner, Scott Spillman... several others) Who I hope to learn from Denny K on site tips. Thank you so much! PS I have started a new pencil (B&W) of my mom (she passed away last year from cancer) as a surprise gift from my Dad. Picture is from around 1950s... my Dad carries it around with him everywhere.
