Mr. Grumpy

Ever come across a person who is just plain 'ol cranky? Yeah! Me, too. I used to know a man like this as a kid. All the kids in the neighborhood called him Mr. Grumpy. He always wore this "funny" hat. And his left ear was a bit larger than his right one. He said it happened during his boxing days. Actually, He was really a nice guy, who, most likely, had a very tough life. This illustration is dedicated to Mr. G.

So Unforgettable

Artist Reply: Thank you for your visit, Mr. Cappello. Mr. Grumpy is based on a real person that I knew as a kid. He was a good man and totally harmless.

That man looks like a certaint fellow resident where I live. He's always swearing!

Artist Reply: I've had quite a few people tell me that Mr. Grumpy reminds them of someone in their lives, as well. Very interesting. He was really a nice man. He never bothered anyone. He was harmless. I think being cranky was his way of compensating for his lonliness.
