River Blue sculpture

Photo of part of a Huge hand-blown glass sculpture called River Blue and located in the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut. The majority of the glass is actually clear and/or frosted white/clear glass, with some Cobalt blue glass. The colors showing in this image are created by lights that are built into the base of the sculpture and that fills the sculpture with light rather like fiber optics in shifting light ornaments/statues/xmas trees.

Amazin & Surreal...I love the way the vibrant blue contrasts with the reds and shadows.

Amy, Wow, this is so gorgeous. I am inspired by this. The colors are great and this is filled with vitality and energy.

Artist Reply: Wow! what a wonderful compliment. This 'statue' is handblown glass (2500 individual pieces) all assembled and then rigged up with slowly rotating colored lights that make it even more awesome. The actual glass itself is done in three different colors/textures. Cobalt blue (only a small number of these), clear (no tint), and a almost sky blue with frosted/sandblasted surface.
