...dark fears

This graphite isnt about details, only emotions and those things we run from, chase us or haunt us at the most unexpected times....I know this drawing in the emotions.... This was a hard one to photo so it was scanned in sections. It measures 30x22 on heavy stock paper. For those of you who ask me questions and i never get a chance to answer, i always start all 'faces' with the rightside eye and work my way left and up then down... i rarely sketch out guide lines anymore. Its almost mathmatical in the process. I do keep chanting in my head key words to the goal of emotion i wish to incorporate. I prefer Bristol Boards and use 4B to 6B graphite ...i use Ebony brand pencils for dark works......Larger works i find sheets of heavy stock papers from printers and a family business... My usual graphite may take me 4 days to 2 weeks to complete. Paintings about the same, though i have works half completed that i pull out and work on when the spirit moves me.... I do work on some creative project everyday. It may be for an hour or the whole day into night... i also write poetry to keep my head purged from emotional depths.. Hope this helps some one, i love to encourage all arts in all directions... : )

Excellent work, especially on the eyes and the shading process. There's a sense of movement about it.
