Neat pic--snake is ready to strike-ha!

Artist Reply: Thanks! He was watching me holding one hand out to the side so I could take a pic of him with the other! I appreciated his cooperation!

ok....pretty snake ,but to good of a shot just got an uneasy feeling. snakes make me frozen with fear.

Artist Reply: Sounds like my hubby; we don't even discuss "s-words" around here! But these are pretty docile; they won't come after you. I had to catch this one & relocate him for his own safety!

Fantastic image really pretty! So sad they are deadly

Artist Reply: Our spotted king snake isn't venomous; I'm so thankful for that! I guess I wouldn't have been quite so close if he was. Thanks for your comments; so glad you dropped by!

OK, Marsha, what's with us and snakes lately??? What great shots... Makes me "squirm a little"... You really captured them so nice.. Joanie Holliday

Artist Reply: Thanks Joanie! Maybe they find us because we're not going to kill them. I've always been fascinated with snakes; they're so unique & beautiful! Hubby does not share this particular sentiment...

What a lovely snakes! I've loved snakes from the time I was a child!

Artist Reply: Me too! At one time, my son had three snakes so I was used to handling them. I'm not really afraid of them but I do respect the limits they set on how close you can get without annoying them! Thanks for your feedback!

How AMAZING!!! Its great that you caught him in that striking pose..though non venomous! You are an excellent photographer, Marsha!

Artist Reply: Thanks surekha! I just used one hand to distract him, then shoot the photos with the other hand. It worked quite nicely. Thanks so much, glad you liked him!

Marsha what an awesome shot, wow! he is huge, I see where they get their name. He isn't poisonous, is he? Still, this is a great capture!

Artist Reply: No, he's not venomous & not bad natured, just watching out for himself! My dog found him in the bad yard (fenced) so I moved him to the front yard so I could photograph him without Ches trying to carry him around. After I got my photos I took him to a little creek nearby; the land owner gave me permission to release snakes there! Thanks for your comments!

nice shot M Smith....a bit scary though!!

Artist Reply: It was a bit scary getting this close to him but I knew he wasn't venomous & while the spotted king will strike he's not likely to bite. Thanks!
