The tiny hamlet of Swanston near Edinburgh. Many people lived in houses like these hundreds of years ago - now they are preserved as a memory of the past (but still owned and inhabited; not museum pieces). These are thatched which was unusual in Scotland - more usual in England. The colour version is below so you can choose which one you like best!
