now this is one dangerous critter--usually has red spot on body and can be deadly

Artist Reply: She did have the red hourglass on the underside; I just couldn't get a good angle on it! Sure wasn't going to pick her up & turn her over :-)

OMG ... this is a fabulous shot !

Artist Reply: Thanks so much. I was nervous getting this shot but so glad that I managed to get it without getting bitten!

Excellent macro shooting Marsha......How did you get her out in the light ? She really loves the DARK ! ! !

Artist Reply: When I got home she was in my garage (not a place I want her to stay)! I used a piece of paper to put her in a clear plastic container with leaves & her egg sac. Put water on cotton ball; found two dead bugs for her to eat (see bottom pic). I set her on the porch & used natural light. Then my mom & I drove her farther out into the country where there were no houses and set her free! Yes, some people think I'm nuts & should have squashed her (couldn't do it)! She's now happily raising her children in an undisclosed location!

kinda scarry

Artist Reply: Yeah, spiders used to really creep me out but now I find myself looking for them to photograph!

I have seen them in movies, but never that close as this. Great shot.

Artist Reply: Thanks so much. Glad you dropped by!
