Abstract mixed media. Copyright: Hilton Harris 2004. A friend of mine suggested I put some sort of background color on this piece instead of just white. So I brightened the colors up some and set it on a black background. I'll let the expert artists on artwanted decide if it works better.

This has a Matisse cut-out like quality. I think I am drawn to the works with some black (or white) negative space. Jay Amatangelo (also on artwanted) creates somewhat similar abstract works. You might check him out.Tom Lavelle 25 Aug 2004

Yes, I agree! The BLACK background works very well with the lovely bright colors that you have chosen for this piece. It would NOT look as good on white, I don't believe. You might also want to try some bold bright red or blue backgrounds with some of your abstracts. The forms seem to represent LIFE with all of it's Brilliance and Beauty. This, too, is one of my Favorites, and I leave you with another '10' point rating. You have a nice way of melding and molding graphics together... quite expressive.Rob Jones 12 Aug 2004

I like this one with the black background.. sharpness/blur seems not consistant.. but that itself could be the design as well.. I always fill up my canvas/monitor canvas as well.. this one has a nice flow to it.. I wonder if a bit more breathing space around might really bring out the flow more.. Overall a very nice image..:-) Blue
