Taking a tree Squirrel and placing a rose and poppies for a nut, and then ask to trade for a valentine trade. Done on 400 weight paper using a flat sediment stone to grind the minerals into the very fiber soul of the paper, its amazingly portraiture of the little guy left me in awe. The lady I did it for was so taken by it when presented to her, she could not speak for a while.

AWWWWWW DAVID! HOW ADORABLE. GREAT PAINTING.

Artist Reply: Sharon, this commissioned work set on my to do rack for the last two years. I just couldn't see the complete picture. Not until sitting at a stop signal, and having a lady pull up beside me and this black lab look out of the window and give me that waited look. I went home took down the hold work and completed the commission. Glad you like it it just came about. I even gave them an artist self portrait with in the refection of the eye. David
