OCD

This is another of my AP art concentration pieces. My concentration was based off of psychological diseases and pesonality disorders. This, is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. This is a mixed media piece. It began with paper I had made--blue construction paper with acrylics and tissue papers glued with starch. Then, I pen and inked in the figure and pictures, and watercolored the rest. People with OCD generally are obsessive about someting and are compulsive with this obsession (hence OCD). Here is one type in which this girl must have everything perfectly straight and arranged. She is straightening all of her pictures. The background is chaotic, though. People with OCD have a hard time dealing with the chaos in the world that disrupts their attempts to keep things perfect. In each picture frame, there is something relating to OCD.

Wow... this is incredible! You've got a beautiful technique and this is probably one of the best pieces I've ever seen on this site... keep up the amazing work!

You are talented. I hope you find also a treatment in making art. That is what you are doing.

very well thought out, my best friend was diagnosed with OCD and left school for a year because of it. It's actually quite common, though sadly not a lot of people know how to treat it. But I like the way you've juxtaposed the chaos with the linear squares.
