I was trying to get two of the butterflies in this shot and actually got three butterflies and one moth. From upper left, painted lady butterfly, common checkered skipper, yellow-collared scape moth (my first) and a variegated fritillary butterfly in the lower right corner. They really love the purple asters, especially the fritillaries. Taken at the bath house butterfly garden, White Rock Lake, Dallas, Texas.

Butterflies seem drawn to purple flowers. This is a beauty of a capture.

this is beautiful Brenda, when my sister was young she used to collect butterflies,I do not know what finally happened to them, maybe she did not preserve them properly but had quite a few species,I see so many less now around here, but when young in upstate N.Y.they were everywhere.
