Grub is from Lee Vining, California, on the eastern edge of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, and paints in Hawthorne, Nevada, on the western edge of the Great Basin. He considers the imagination a very real, concrete, place. His paintings are his attempts to articulate his experience with the world.

He has shown work in Mammoth Lakes, CA, Bishop, CA, Mendocino and Humboldt Counties in Northern California, Oakland, CA and Reno, NV.

Education: BAs in Painting and Art History from Humboldt State University, Arcata, California (2006).

Major influences include German Expressionism in general, as well as Beckmann, Guston, Bosch, among others.
