Self Portrait

Michigan wildlife artist Gordon E. Szczubelek received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1984 from Central Michigan University where he earned many awards for his original works of art. After college, Gordon developed his own unique style and technique for painting the wildlife images he is known for and Gordon's love for his natural surroundings is evident in his paintings.

Gordon paints on canvas using acrylics but he also enjoys painting on natural substances like driftwood and slate. Gordon has participated in numerous art fairs in Michigan, was the featured artist for Midland Ducks Unlimited in 1996 and 1998 and has donated his original artwork to benefit Whitetails Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, Art Reach and PBS.

Gordon specializes in original paintings of pets in which he creates a work of art from a series of photographs.

Gordon resides in Michigan with his dog Woody.
