I take photos that spark an emotion. I want to capture something that would make a total stranger connect with the picture and express emotion. When someone views my artwork, I want them to react. Even if that reaction is like when I received my first jack-in-the-box... A colored metal box with a crank that I'm expected to turn and turn until OOP! Big shock, a jack pops out and your parents laugh and the siblings laugh and the dogs laugh and I die a little inside. Then I know I've done what I wanted to do.
As a self-taught artist I am constantly evolving with my work. Absorbing all the knowledge I can from books, magazines, articles and discussions with my artist friends, I am constantly working to improve my art. Through many years of sketching and experimenting with new styles- I am striving to create a look (and feel) all my own.
