I am Carolyn Caton, a self-taught artist - maybe naive/primitive/outsider as well - I will leave that part for you to decide - it is what it is.
I began my artistic adventure one night (I believe it was 2007) when my kids left their art supplies out. For whatever reason, I decided to give it a try that night, and the next thing I knew it was 4 am!
I paint entirely from the imaginings and remembrances in my mind - never have been able to "paint on demand" or from any sort of model. Most of the time, it's somewhat like painting a daydream of sorts.
I began with watercolors and watercolor pencils, and about a year ago switched over to acrylic paints.
I have sold the majority of my acrylic paintings, much to my own amazement, and at times I've been truly flabbergasted yet at the same time very grateful that I've been so fortunate to find others who seem to like and enjoy my work.
I was born in Kansas City, Missouri in 1966 and live in a small rural community north of there now.
